Visit of the General Secretariat of Mission and Evangelization and the JPIC General Office to the Province of Saint Michael the Archangel of Indonesia
The Secretariat for Mission and Evangelization, Br. Francisco Gómez and Br. Denis Tayo, together with the General Office for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC), Br. Daniel Rodríguez Blanco and Br. Taucen Girsang, visited the Franciscan Province of Saint Michael the Archangel of Indonesia during the week of the Octave of Easter from 1-6 April 2024.
Initial formation and JPIC in the Holy Land
On Friday 2nd February in the seminary of St. Saviour in Jerusalem the Custodial Commission of JPIC: fr John Luke Gregory, fr Carlos Gabriel Eduardo Molina and fr Mark Vertido, completed its series of courses given to the friars in the initial stages of formation.
Opening Mass of WYD 2023. The Patriarch of Lisbon: “I want you all to feel at home”
On Tuesday 1st August, the Patriarch of Lisbon, H.E. Card. Manuel Clemente, celebrated the Holy Opening Mass of the XXXVII World Youth Day, which takes place in Lisbon, Portugal, until 6th August. Thousands of young people from all over the world took part, gathered at Parco Edoardo VII; as part of the Integral Ecology program, 40 Friars Minor from many parts of the world have taken care of the Park and the gardens it contains.

One year before World Youth Day, which will gather young people from around the world in Lisbon from 1 to 6 August 2023, the Order of Friars Minor has announced its participation in the event.

Poor Clare Sisters join Prayer Network for the Care of Creation
In the spirit of Laudato Si’ 2021, the platform “Prayer Network for the Care of Creation”, a network of communities committed to the healing of our common home, has been created. The JPIC Office, with the support of Pro Monialibus, has invited the Poor Clares, the Capuchin Sisters and the Conceptionist Sisters to be part of this network.
