International JPIC Council – OFM
A global space for discernment and encouragement
The International Council for Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) is the main forum for coordination, consultation, and guidance that brings together JPIC coordinators from all Franciscan Conference, including:
- The JPIC Animation Committee
- The Animators of the General Curia Office
This Council is established as a key advisory group, with the aim of supporting the JPIC Office, the General Definitory, and the Conferences in their mission to:
- Train and raise awareness
- Encourage local and global processes
- Promoting the Franciscan commitment to justice, peace, and integral ecology
What does the International Council do?
The Council’s decisions and guidelines are presented as general guidelines that guide JPIC animation work throughout the Order. These decisions strengthen the shared mission of living the Gospel based on the tradition of the Franciscan charism and its application in today’s world, in intercultural and interreligious dialogue, under the paradigm of care for our common home and commitment to the realities of exclusion, violence, and war.
