The “Serata Laudato Si’” is a cultural event in Rome aimed at promoting the message of the Encyclical Laudato Si’.

This initiative should be understood as an expression of gratitude for the words of Pope Francis in his Encyclical Letter Laudato Si’ on the care for our common home, and as a sign of offering back to the Most High Lord God, recognizing that all goods belong to Him. For this reason, we, the Friars Minor, wish to share with the whole Church and civil society a cultural evening to say together: laudato si’, mi’ Signore.

A cultural evening intended to raise awareness among all about caring for the environment and our common home, as Pope Francis often reminds us, becoming a sign of commitment to the values promoted by this Encyclical. We are convinced that caring for what is weak belongs to the essence of our charism, and as Franciscans, we are always called to respond to this aspect so dear to Saint Francis.

Office for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) of the Order of Friars Minor

To understand the meaning of this structure of the Order that we call JPIC, it is very important to recognize that it is, fundamentally, a spirituality—a set of biblical values. In fact, JPIC arises from a spirituality centered on God’s plan of life for all creation, in which we are called to collaborate; it is nourished by the discovery of the compassionate and merciful face of the God of Jesus, who reveals Himself in history.

Therefore, JPIC is a way of life and mission, challenged by the great causes of humanity and committed to all human beings so that they may have a dignified life. For this reason, JPIC encompasses all of life; it is a guiding thread that runs through every dimension of our religious and Franciscan life: prayer, fraternity, formation, economy, vows, evangelization, mission, etc.

Fr. Alessandro Brustenghi, OFM
His passion for music and singing, together with the gifts he has received from the Lord in this field and his studies at the Conservatory, have allowed Alessandro to enrich the liturgies celebrated in the convents where he has lived.
