Br. Roland Kee Abas, OFM, upon the approval of the Province of San Antonio de Padua Formation Council members, conducted a Basic Orientation Workshop in all levels of Formation, from Aspirancy to Post-Novitiate Formation Program. He traveled from one House of Formation to another across the Visayas and Mindanao islands, facilitating sessions aimed at deepening the understanding of JPIC (Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation).
The workshop took place at the following locations and dates: Our Lady of the Angels Aspirancy House, Calbayog City, Western Samar (March 3-4, 2025); Saint Anthony of Padua Novitiate House, Ormoc City (March 6-7, 2025); and Saint Bonaventure House of Studies (Post-Novitiate Formation House), Davao City (March 10-11, 2025).
In his sessions with the formandi, Br. Roland utilized the topic “Role of JPIC Animator” from the JPIC Resources of the Order. Following this, he integrated the “JPIC Program and Plan of Actions” of their Province. He also presented a systematic, practical, pastoral, and realistic program of action for JPIC at various stages of the Formation process.
Overall, the formandi in all Formation Houses expressed satisfaction, contentment, and joy in gaining a deeper understanding of the JPIC Program of the Order, as well as the JPIC initiatives of their Province at different levels of Formation. They conveyed their commitment and willingness to support and collaborate with the JPIC Program while also hoping to contribute their own ideas on implementing the general and specific objectives of JPIC.
Br. Roland is currently serving as the Province’s JPIC Director while actively participating in the Vocation and Pastoral Ministries of San Antonio de Padua Province-Philippines.
