The website <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/worlddaycreation.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>WorldDayCreation.com<\/span><\/a><\/strong><span>, <\/span><strong><span>developed by continental episcopal bodies and various ecclesial networks<\/span><\/strong><span>, brings together in one place <\/span><strong><span>liturgical texts, pastoral materials, and formation resources<\/span><\/strong><span> to help communities celebrate this season. The materials are <\/span><strong><span>available in Spanish, English, Italian, French, and Portuguese.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span>One of the most noteworthy resources is the <\/span><strong><span>complete Mass formulary for the Care of Creation<\/span><\/strong><span>. This document, which <\/span><strong><span>includes the corresponding liturgical prayers and biblical readings<\/span><\/strong><span>, was incorporated into the Roman Missal last year and, for the first time, makes it possible to commemorate the September 1 observance using a <\/span><strong><span>formulary specifically dedicated to the care of creation<\/span><\/strong><span>. Following the warm reception it received during its first celebrations in 2025, the formulary <\/span><strong><span>is now being translated into the various languages of numerous episcopal conferences.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span>Alongside the liturgical formulary, <\/span><strong><span>the website also offers pastoral resources<\/span><\/strong><span> designed to facilitate preparation in each parish, including <\/span><strong><span>suggested hymns, homily ideas, prayers of the faithful, and ideas for activities to organize after Mass.<\/span><\/strong><span> These are complemented by <\/span><strong><span>formation materials<\/span><\/strong><span> for priests, diocesan leaders, and parish teams, covering the history of the World Day, its theological and pastoral significance, and practical aspects of the new formulary and lectionary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span>This year\u2019s preparations are also accompanied by the <\/span><strong><span>message published by Pope Leo XIV for the 11th World Day<\/span><\/strong><span>, entitled <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/leo-xiv\/en\/messages\/creation\/documents\/20260815-messaggio-giornata-curacreato.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em><span>\u201cThey shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks\u201d (Is 2:4)<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/a><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/leo-xiv\/en\/messages\/creation\/documents\/20260815-messaggio-giornata-curacreato.html\">.<\/a> In the text, <\/span><strong><span>he links armed conflicts with the environmental crisis and calls for a personal and collective conversion capable of sustaining both peace and the care of creation.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.8&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>From the Eastern Church to the Universal Church<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span>The World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, <\/span><strong><span>instituted for the Catholic Church by Pope Francis in 2015<\/span><\/strong><span>, draws inspiration from an <\/span><strong><span>ancient liturgical tradition of the Eastern Church<\/span><\/strong><span>, which associates this date with the <\/span><strong><span>symbolism of God\u2019s act of creation<\/span><\/strong><span>. The observance had previously been embraced by the Ecumenical Patriarchate and other Christian Churches, as well as by various continental episcopal conferences since the <\/span><strong><span>late 1990s<\/span><\/strong><span>. <\/span><strong><span>Its celebration marks the beginning of the Season of Creation, which continues until October 4, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span>For those who wish to use these five weeks to go beyond the liturgical celebration and deepen the spiritual roots of this commitment, <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ofmjpic.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>OFM JPIC<\/span><\/a><\/strong><span> offers the free course <\/span><strong><em><span>Integral Ecology: Franciscan Roots of Laudato Si\u2019<\/span><\/em><\/strong><span>.
